The 81 colonial-style townhomes of Millwood Estates were built in 1987. A typical floor plan includes three above ground levels, walkout basement, three bedrooms, two full and two half baths.
Millwood Estates is located in West Springfield, Virginia, fifteen miles southwest of Washington, D.C., just outside the Capital Beltway. The location is ideal for commuters working throughout Northern Virginia with the Pentagon 30 minutes away via express bus and Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Fort Belvoir, and Tyson's Corner all 15 miles or less by car.

Millwood Estates is convenient to travel by bus, car, metro, plane, and train. Fairfax Connector and WMATA buses stop right in front of the community. I-95, I-395, and I-495 are within a ten minute drive. A slug line is located one block away. The Franconia/Springfield station is ten minutes away and provides access to the Metro (Blue Line), Amtrak, Greyhound, and VRE (Fredericksburg Line). The Rolling Road VRE station (Manassas Line) is less than ten minutes away. Reagan National (DCA) and Dulles International (IAD) airports are within 15 and 25 miles, respectively.

Pentagon express buses travel down Old Keene Mill to the I-95/I-395 HOV lanes. 18H and 18P take slightly different routes through Springfield.

The Franconia/Springfield Metro Station includes a Greyhound Bus Terminal with service to Union Station in Washington, D.C.
The Springfield Interchange (exit 169) provides access to I-95, I-395, and I-495. From Millwood Estates, turn right on Old Keene Mill Road and proceed East for 3 miles. Old Keene Mill widens to five lanes. From left, they provide access to (far left) through traffic to Franconia, (mid-left) Springfield Mall and I-395 North HOV, (middle) I-95 South, (right two lanes) I-395 North, I-95 North/I-495 East, I-495 West.
The Braddock Road Exit (54 A) is an alternative to the Springfield Interchange for accessing I-495 North (Capital Beltway). From Millwood Estates, turn right on Old Keene Mill Road and take an immediate left on Rolling Road. After 2.3 miles, turn right on Burke Lake Road, then right on Braddock Road. The 495 entrance is approximately 2 miles along Braddock.
Follow the directions above to get on 495 North (towards Rockville) via Braddock Road. Follow 495 North for 8.8 miles, then take the left exit onto the Dulles Toll Road. Follow the signs for airport traffic (no tolls).
Follow the directions above to get through the Springfield Interchange towards I-395 North. After 7 miles on I-95/I-395, take Exit 7A, bearing right onto S. Glebe Road then left onto VA-120. After 1.4 miles, turn left onto Jefferson Davis Highway and follow the signs to the VA-233E ramp and Reagon National Airport.
Last station on the Blue Line. Acces to Alexandria (10 - 20 minutes), Reagan National Airport (25 minutes), Arlington (25 - 35 minutes), and Washington, D.C. (40 - 60 minutes)
Parking garage accomodates 5,100 cars, with free overflow parking available on the top level of the nearby Macy's garage (about a 5 minute walk from the station). Note that a Smart Trip card is required to pay for parking (no cash) - cards are available at the station.
Slug lines are an informal ride sharing program in Northern Virginia. Drivers who wish to use the HOV lanes on I-95/I-395 match up with commuters looking for a ride at set pick-up/drop-off points.
There is a single slug line at the Shell station on the south side of Old Keene Mill (across the street from Giant). This line goes to the Pentagon, providing access to the Pentagon Metro station and bus terminal. Commuters line up along the driveway between the Shell station and the Country Club. A return line is also available at the Pentagon.
